BTW a tip...if using a HD bucket to mix mortar/cement (I mean, who hasn't?), wrap a layer or two of duct tape around the bucket to add some strength. Else the risk of your electric mixer cracking a side is a possibility. Happened to me more than once!

I’ve watched a few of your videos trying to determine the mesh you put in the countertops. Is that just a metal chicken wire type mesh? I only see plastic mesh available for purchase for concrete counters.

on buildings they add colored powder to the plaster which is coarse concrete. i once seen them use purple, orange, blue and teal. anyway. that clover leaf came out great.

You say prep is very important, clean no paint but what do you do if your walls are painted???

@MichaelBuilds Is "Sand Mix" concrete not really concrete, then, because it lacks the gravel/aggregate? Does it have the same ratio of cement to sand as standard concrete?

How many bags does it take to make this? I only see you mixing one or two but does it take more than that for this size?

Dry pour is for lazy unskilled people. If any of you have convinced yourself that the finished product looks good then you are fckn insane. It means you suck.

I build stone walls. I do dry pours for the footing/foundation. I do rebarb reinforcing. I use high-pressure concrete because of the weight of the stone. Dry pour has never ever failed me. I water just like you did. If it's hot, I cover it with harbor frieght moving plankets to reduce the evaporation. Great video.

Thank you!! I had 2 leaks present at the same time and definitely no budget for a full fix right now. Especially since the corner where the leaks happened are where my porch and driveway meet the house ... dang it! We are expecting another storm tonight so fingers crossed this holds. Oh and my biggest pet peeve is when people take selfies with duck face or tongue sticking out ... ugh

Broski if you don’t waterproof it from the outside ,you might be doing more harm than good waterproofing from the inside.

Hey Mike, I watched my first video of yours this morning before work. I've watched 3 more today. The first was building a concrete counter top; you said it was your first video. Since then the cool fire pit with compass, the fire table, and now this one. You've inspired me for sure. I'll do the counter top first , and polish it like you did in this vid. My neighbor with his million dollar house had a complementary shed made from the same materials as the house in his back yard. He would never touch a tool if you held his feet to the fire. He tore the shed down to put in a play set. I think his kid played on it maybe twice.

Highly recommend you not use this on the inside of your basement. Great for exterior. You don't want your block sitting it water like that where it can't effloresce. Better to let it dry to the inside than make a situation where the block degrades.
